Stay in comfort at The Haughmond, where our seven characterful hotel rooms offer a relaxing retreat in the heart of the beautiful countryside. Each room is thoughtfully designed to ensure a peaceful night’s rest in a warm, welcoming setting. All rooms come fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a delicious breakfast to set you up for a day of exploring Shrewsbury and the surrounding area.

Our Rooms

Red Room

Our largest, most sumptuous room with breathtaking, uninterrupted views of The Wrekin, reflecting the importance of the Red Deer themselves! An oak super king bed with soft seating to enjoy the landscape has a large adjoining bathroom within the room.

Sika Room

This room was ‘found’ in the eaves of this beautiful old building when we renovated it in 2014/5 It has since been remodelled during the 2020 lockdown…We decided to open up the old hay loft door to add a Juliet balcony and, a walk-in rainhead shower room. The room is spacious with the option of a 6-foot super king bed or two 3-foot twin beds. The French doors and balcony have views across the fields to the back of the building.

Duck or Grouse, please mind your head. Note that this room has a low beam.

Roe Room

Roe Room is a cosy double-bedded room which looks over the front of The Haughmond towards the heart of the peaceful idyllic village of Upton Magna.  The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in rainhead shower with a heated towel rail.  All you could need with an award-winning breakfast for a great night’s stay!

Fallow Room

The Fallow room is one of our two king-size double rooms which has the flexibility of booking as a double or twin room. With views over the front of The Haughmond towards the heart of the village of Upton Magna. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in rainhead shower with a heated towel rail.  All you could need with a hearty breakfast for a great night’s stay!

Muntjac Room

The Muntjac room is one of our two king-size double rooms which has the flexibility of booking as a double or twin room. The large picture window looking over the rear of the property delights with a fabulous view of Shropshire’s well-known Wrekin landmark. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in rain head shower with a heated towel rail.  All you could need with a hearty breakfast for a great night’s stay!

Boris Room

On leaving the Boris room, you are immediately outside with public footpaths over the fields literally on your doorstep! Both are king-size double rooms which have the flexibility of booking as a double or twin room. 

To accommodate guests travelling with their beloved pets our pet-friendly rooms include a tiled floor entrance, dog towels and a bowl. Your pets are welcome to join you in the restaurant and lounge for lunch, dinner, breakfast or drinks.

Feel free to bring your soft dog beds, blankets and bowls.

Basil Room

On leaving the Basil room, you are immediately outside with public footpaths over the fields literally on your doorstep! Both are king-size double rooms which have the flexibility of booking as a double or twin room. 

To accommodate guests travelling with their beloved pets our pet-friendly rooms include a tiled floor entrance, dog towel and bowl. Your pets are welcome to join you in the restaurant and lounge for lunch, dinner, breakfast or drinks.

Feel free to bring your soft dog beds, blankets and bowls.

The Barn

The Barn at The Haughmond is a thoughtful barn conversion with an open-plan living room with bright, fresh colour schemes, infused with modern and indulgent furnishings and featuring a large flat-screen TV. The big dining table is perfect for lovely home-cooked dinners or late-night board games.

The bedrooms offer the choice of king-size, doubles or a twin setup, with the added benefit of zip and link beds. The shower room boasts a large walk-in shower wet room and contemporary fittings .

Outside, pleasant views can be admired across green pastures, from the seating area within the grounds.

Dog-Friendly Accommodation
Looking for dog-friendly accommodation in Shrewsbury? We offer two dog-friendly ground floor rooms (Basil and Borris) with direct access to the car park—perfect for easy outdoor adventures with your four-legged friends.

Each dog guest receives a welcome pack filled with treats, and our luxury dog beds are available upon request. An additional charge of £20 per night applies for dogs.

Breakfast
For those with a bed and breakfast rate breakfast is served daily from 7.30am to 11:30am and available Wednesday – Sunday. Begin your morning with a complimentary pastel de nata, followed by your choice of a freshly prepared dish from our breakfast menu.

Enjoy a selection of freshly brewed teas, coffees, and fruit juices to accompany your meal, all served in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Check-in and check-out times
Check in is between 4.00pm until 10.00pm. Early check-in can be accommodated when arranged with The Haughmond team in advance. Rooms should be vacated by 11.00am on the day of your departure.

Sunday & Monday Bookings
We’re pleased to offer accommodation in our outside rooms on Sunday and Monday evenings. Please note that the main hotel is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so no breakfast, lunch or dinner service will be available on those days. 

Room Only Rate 
This rate does not include breakfast. Please note, there is no option to add on breakfast for Monday and Tuesday mornings as the Restaurant and Bar are closed on a Monday and Tuesday. Breakfast can be purchased on Wednesday – Sunday mornings 0730 – 1130 from the a la carte breakfast and brunch menu.

Children
We’re delighted to welcome families to The Haughmond. Our Red and Sika rooms are well-suited for families, making us the ideal base for your Shrewsbury getaway with children.

Parking & Electric Charging Points
Free private parking is available on-site with no reservation required. We also offer an electric vehicle charging point, which guests are welcome to use during their stay at The Haughmond.

The Barn
